The Sustainable Personal Development for Aboriginal Men project aims to equip individuals and communities to more effectively manage their presenting life situations on a day to day basis, and so increase the likelihood of avoiding crises.
Project objectives include the development and delivery of culturally appropriate personal development resources including training modules covering topics such as self-esteem, conflict resolution, loss and grief. One of the main elements of this project is carry out healing camps where Aboriginal men are shown their true potential in society, and includes Mental Health awareness of one self.
Counseling is also offered to clients when needed.
Funding under the National Suicide Prevention Program was set up to Support local community based suicide prevention activities has contribute to outcomes specified in the strategic Framework “Living Is For Everyone (LIFE) This relates to a framework for prevention of Suicide and self-harm in Australia.
